The challenge
Balance Recruitment is a leader in IT recruitment, helping organisations access the right talent while building trusted relationships with candidates. Managing Director Simon Hogg co-founded the business in 2007 to create value for recruitment clients and build long-term partnerships.
Like many growing agencies, Balance Recruitment started with the basic software it needed to get the job done. As the business expanded, the team continued using an applicant tracking system that ran from a physical server in the office.
That setup became a problem as the team grew and consultants began working remotely. The server-based system did not provide the flexibility to access data from any device, anywhere.
Balance Recruitment went to tender for a cloud-based system and initially selected another provider. When that provider could not deliver what had been promised, the implementation had to be cancelled. With time already lost, Simon reached out to Recruit Wizard with an aggressive timeline.
The solution
Recruit Wizard implemented its CRM/ATS rapidly, giving Balance Recruitment the cloud-based functionality it needed before the first pandemic lockdown.
The new platform gave consultants access to their data from wherever they were working and made it easier to capture information as work happened. Recruit Wizard also brought a tight integration with iProfile, helping keep candidate information accurate and up to date so the team could get more value from its database.
The working relationship mattered too. Glen Perry and the Recruit Wizard team were responsive, practical and willing to go above and beyond to get the agency live on time.
The result
Balance Recruitment moved into remote work with the right platform already in place. Consultants could use the system from whatever device they needed, with data available in one place and easy to capture.
The team did have to work through the normal resistance that comes with changing systems after 12.5 years. Once people got on board, they found Recruit Wizard useful and practical.
Today, Balance Recruitment uses Recruit Wizard as a single source of truth that keeps the team up to date and on track. The agency also values the flexibility of being able to share ideas and influence future features.
For Simon, Recruit Wizard’s service is the difference. When Balance Recruitment identifies a gap, the team listens and works on a solution. That responsiveness has made Recruit Wizard feel very different from larger global providers.
The product continues to reveal new opportunities for improvement. Balance Recruitment uses a regular “Tech Tip Tuesday” in team meetings to share features and ideas that can improve processes and make life easier for consultants.
